CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL ELECTIONS — NOVEMBER 5, 2026. The Dixon Unified School District’s Measure U faces a preliminary No majority in Solano County’s November 4 report: No 3,348, Yes 2,742. The reported Yes share is approximately 45.0%, below the 55% threshold required for the proposed school-facilities bond. The county’s legal canvass is not finished.

What the office or ballot question means

A school bond is a form of public borrowing intended to finance eligible capital improvements, with repayment obligations under the applicable measure and state law. Unlike a simple city general-tax question, the school-facilities proposal requires the heightened 55% voter threshold. Even a majority of Yes votes below that threshold would not be enough to approve it. The precise authorized bond amount and projected property tax should be checked against the district’s official voter materials rather than inferred from the election tally.

How to read the reported votes

The county count reports 6,090 valid Yes/No selections. That number is not the number of city council voters in Dixon, nor can it be converted directly into the entire district’s registered-voter participation rate. Additional eligible ballots could change totals. The word ‘lead’ refers only to the dated preliminary vote, not final certification.

Other nearby election coverage

Dixon also voted for city representatives in separate council districts. California58’s local report covers Jim Ernest versus Emily Schroeder in District 1, and Christina Cerna versus Thom Bogue in District 2. City services and school district governance have different legal powers.

Sources, timing and certification

All candidate and measure totals in this report come from the Solano County local-election results published by KQED, dated November 4, 2026 at 7:40 p.m. Pacific. The county is still required to validate additional eligible mail and provisional ballots and conduct the statutory canvass. The county’s Registrar of Voters is the source for subsequent official updates. County results are due under California law in early December; the Secretary of State’s statewide certification is scheduled for December 11. The newsroom does not declare a certified winner or enacted tax from an election-night total.
